Create a clear, professional invoice
An invoice records what you supplied, what it costs, and when payment is due. Clear item descriptions and agreed payment terms help clients understand the amount owed and how to pay.
What to include on an invoice
- Your business name and contact details, plus the client’s name
- A unique invoice number, issue date, and payment due date
- Itemized products or services, quantities, and prices
- Applicable tax, discounts, shipping, amount paid, and balance due
- Payment instructions and any relevant notes
Invoice requirements vary by location and business type. Check the rules that apply to your business, especially for tax invoices.
How to make an invoice
- Enter your business and client details.

What payment terms should I use?
Use the payment deadline agreed with your client. Common terms set payment due a specified number of days after the invoice date.
What should I do before sending an invoice?
Check the client details, invoice number, dates, item descriptions, calculations, and payment instructions. Keep a copy for your records.
Privacy and data
Invoice details stay in your browser unless you choose to save them. Invoice fields, line items, notes, and uploaded logos are saved in this browser’s local storage to restore your draft. The generator itself does not submit invoice content to our service or send it as data to third-party services. Use “Clear saved draft” to remove it. Clearing browser/site data or using private browsing may erase drafts; local storage is not a backup. Anyone with access to your browser profile or device may be able to access saved drafts.
Optional accounts. Accounts are never required. If you create one, we store your email address and a securely hashed password. Invoice content (including client details and logo) is sent to our server only when you click “Save to account”, and is stored in our database so you can reopen and track it. Signing in sets a session cookie that expires when you close your browser; visitors who do not sign in receive no session cookie. To limit abuse, sign-in attempts are recorded using a one-way hash of your IP address and deleted after 24 hours. You can delete individual invoices, or permanently delete your account and all saved invoices from “My invoices”.
We do not sell your data. We will not sell or rent personal information or invoice content to data brokers. This site does not use analytics or advertising trackers. Browser local storage is separate from cookies. The embedded Buy Me a Coffee widget sets a “visited” cookie that expires after about 24 hours to control its greeting.
Technical requests and logs. Our web host may create access or security logs containing details such as IP address, time, and requested pages. The host controls whether and how long those logs are retained; consult its privacy policy for details. Requests to Google Fonts and cdnjs to load fonts and PDF libraries may also expose routine connection details to those providers. The Buy Me a Coffee widget loads a script from cdnjs.buymeacoffee.com and opens a Buy Me a Coffee iframe when clicked. The script runs in this page; its provider may receive routine connection details and its handling of data is governed by its privacy policy. We do not intentionally send invoice content to the widget.
Client information. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to enter and use any client details in an invoice.
